Dave Matthews, A300 Captain is our UPS pilot who volunteers significant amounts of time, finances and energy to this charity, "Bethel Youth Camp".
Bethel Youth Camp's mission is to provide strong basis for spiritual development of teens from member churches of the Bethel Ministerial Association,
an association made up of independent Christian churches, mostly in the midwest. Bethel Youth Camp features two summer youth camp programs, Bethel Junior Camp in July,
ministering to pre-teens from 9 to 12 years of age, and Bethel Senior Camp in July, ministering to teens from 13 to 18. These programs provide morning Bible classes,
evening services, recreational activities and multiple areas of involvement for kids to develop their leadership skills, learn social skills with other kids and staff and
grow spiritually in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Dave grew up attending this youth camp, located in Southern Indiana between Dale and Lynville, Indiana on 72 acres of land. After a full career in the Air Force,
Dave started contributing to the camp program every year and writes the morning lessons and coordinates the teachers who teach the 150 to 200 kids attending camp.
Dave also serves on the Board of Directors for the Bethel Ministerial Association and functions as its Manager of Bethel Publishing House, the Sunday School and Literature
service of the BMA. He also volunteers at least one day per month each year in construction projects. He is currently remodelling one of seven dormitories into a five-bedroom-suite
facility which will house staff and visiting pastors.
